The New Smadav Antivirus And How Efficient Is It

  

The Smadav antivirus is one of my favorite antivirus programs. It was developed by Zainuddin Nafarin, an Indonesian. I like the fact that it has got a simple user interface and very good in detecting deadly virus programs like recycler.exe and proposal.exe. And it doesn't just take out your files and viruses together, it picks the virus (es) from your file or document. In other-words, you still get to keep your very precious file.

    Take for instance, you've got a recycler virus in a usb drive along side another software, smadav recovers your software but takes out the recycler virus. I had a movie that i was going to copy out of a flash drive, as I slotted the drive into a colleague's laptop, the file had become a short-cut. I quickly took the flash drive over to another computer with smadav antivirus already installed and within seconds, Smadav had not only treated the virus but also recovered my movie.

   Smadav antivirus is a very light-weight antivirus; doesn't slow down pc, is excellent in scanning usb drives, as soon as they are connected to your pc. Another cool thing about smadav antivirus is that it hardly requires any update. It was built to serve computers that are mostly offline.

   So what are the cons of this awesome antivirus program? Smadav antivirus like I said earlier was built to detect specific viruses to an excellent degree. It nonetheless can overlook some Trojan programs and as such, should be used in combination with one other antivirus program. Please note that care must be taken when picking a complementary antivirus program as you may do some serious damage to your PC.
