1.
Uninstall all unused or unnecessary programs on your computer. There may be
programs on your computer that you feel you may need someday. If
you haven't used them in months or years, my guess is you may never
use them and you definitely won't miss them after you install them.
Uninstalling unused programs helps to keep your P.C in shape and still saves
you data cost as many programs automatically search the internet for updates
once you are online.
2.
Delete all unused files or documents on your PC. This may be old movies you
already watched or have probably lost interest in. They may also be old or
expired set up files, pdfs and the rest, you should know better.
3.
Clear your recycle bin regularly. Cleaning your recycle bin is also necessary
because files that are still in your recycle bin are still as good as fies in
any other part of your hard disk. So you need to regularly delete the files in
yoyr recycle bin. But be sure to check that you do not need any of the files or
documents in yor recycle bin before you empty it.
4.
Use software like tuneup utilities to clean your registry and check your hard
disk for errors.
5.
If you use a computer with low specification, avoid installing heavy-weight or
memory cosuming softwares. These softwares may end up slowing down your
computer and not even working properly themselves due to insufficient ram
space.
6.
Update your antivirus and scan your PC thoroughly. Viruses also tend to slow
down your computer. Many computer viruses, once in your system, keep
multiplying themselves and the result is a very slow P.C. It is more advisable
to have a good USB antivirus running, as well as a good antivirus program that
you update regularly.
Finally, following the above steps should considerably
improve the speed of your laptop or P.C.
